July 2016

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

PRAISE THE LORD! Group # 8 has asked us to help them get started.  We are so blessed and thankful to be a part of what God is doing here in NW Haiti.  If you want to be blessed and be a part of what HE is doing here, see below how you can be a part in praying and/or giving or coming to help.

We attended a bible conference in Richmond MO before returning to Haiti.  It was exciting to be a part of putting together New Testaments that will be coming to Haiti.  Hopefully there will be enough to share.  Not sure of the total they did but is was a lot.

It has been a great few weeks back.  The pastor groups are growing and doing well.  They all did their part while we were gone.  It was encouraging to come back to that.

Our school presenters did a great job this past school year.  Approximately 3500 total youth and many teachers received the sexual purity until marriage info and the gospel.  Many of the teachers present were so encouraged and impressed by the information our presenters were giving the students they asked for a workshop to teach them more so they can encourage their students.  Rousier did the workshop with 60 teachers present.

Analogy:  Are you a thermometer, adjusting to the culture/world or a thermostat changing the culture and world around you by being Jesus to them?

The workshops are going great.  We just finished the pastors workshop here this past week.  We had 25 in attendance and they studied about how to be a successful pastor according to the  Bible, not the world.  On the last day we had a meal and celebration of the past year all that God is doing.  Two other groups joined us, hopefully more can next year.
We have several more workshops planned for the summer and one the first part of November with Pastor Tim from Hughesville Baptist church, Hughesville MO.  We may have a pastor and wife come in October to do a crusade, but do not have final word on that yet. If God is laying on your heart to come help, let us know.

We want to spotlight Rousier Sino (pronounce Woozia) this month:  He is our translator/administrator.  His picture with his family is in pictures on our blog.  He has been working with us since May 2014 and we believe he is one of the best translators in Haiti and are blessed to have him.  He was raised in an orphanage in Port au Prince by Americans, so his English and Kreyol are both about the same.  He has 4 children and his wife helps us sometimes in the school presentations. He directs our sexual purity school presentations and he helps our other worker with the children each Thursday.  He also is raising an orphan and two of his wife's younger siblings.  Rousier loves the Lord and loves serving Him with us. He enjoys watching or listening to soccer, reading and playing with kids. We are building him a house as part of his salary.  It is costing more than we had planned for, so have had to slow down.  If you would like to help with his house, please let us know and mark the check:  House Rousier.

Please continue to pray:
For the VBS' and the workshops.
Each of the pastor groups (pray specifically that they will see the importance of teaching against the cultural traditions and false teachings that go against the Word of God and keep people from coming to JEsus.)
Pray for Haiti and their presidential election in October. (many people are afraid to vote because it can cost them their life)
Pray for USA and our presidential election in November. (it is a must to get on our knees to pray and get out and vote for the one that will keep our freedoms and God in America and actually loves the USA and the people in it.)  We have seen first hand how a country suffers with God totally out of the government and a governenment that DOES NOT CARE ABOUT the people and even oppresses them and if America doesn't get on our knees, speak out and make a change this election, it could end up that way too and that would be tragic.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

June 2016

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ
Thursday we will be leaving Missouri making our way to Florida to return to Haiti the following Thursday. So much has happened in this short 10 weeks we have been here. Our oldest daughter, Myra, and family moved to China. Our youngest daughter, Stefany, is now engaged to a godly young man. Our oldest son, John and family will be moving from Arkansas to Joplin MO. Our youngest son, Mike and wife are expecting a BOY first of December. And some dear friends gave us a house so we will have a place to stay when we are in the states. We extended our time here due to all the above and so we could do some work that was needed on the house (still some work needed so will pick up where left off when we are back next time). Thanks to all of you that have helped. And words cannot express the thanks to our friends for the house/home. We are so blessed. God is so good and His mercy endures forever. Praise His HOLY Name.

As we have been in the states for a little while, God is still working as we write this update.  The pastor groups are meeting and encouraging one another.  A pastor from the USA is skyping with them on a regular basis to disciple and encourage.  We are able to Skype with the pastors and the leaders as well.  It is exciting to hear the groups are going well even when we are not there and the leaders are stepping up to the plate to keep the evangelism and discipling going.  PRAISE THE LORD!  We are so excited to be a part of what God is doing in NW Haiti and you should be too as you pray and give you are a part of it too.

Thank you for giving to the Lord. Many lives have been changed because you gave.
God continues to enlarge our territory.  We have 7 pastor groups now in areas as far away as 2 hours by ATV.  Terry is discipling some of the other pastors to help him go to these areas to encourage and disciple.
Purchased 100 bibles.  Thank you to those that gave to help purchase them.  Also was given 1,000 NT and more should be on the way to us sometime this year.
We had 30 VBS' last summer and with more pastor groups this year we anticipate 10 to 20 more this summer.  We also work with the churches to start a kids club to meet with these kids on a weekly basis to disciple them.

We have given most of the 1000 New Testaments out to the other 6 pastor groups so they could give them to their leaders.  All of the pastors now have a complete Bible.
All the pastors in the group that meets at our home on Fridays have received 2 goats each and one of the other groups have all received one goat.

Terry had a fender bender in Port in March.  Praise the Lord there were no injuries but the cost of $1500 we had to pay to the owner of the other vehicle.
Prayer requests:Monthly support or whenever God lays on your heart to help ( as God continues to expand our territory more monthly support is required)
VBS' this summer
Workshops this summer
Celebration this summer bringing all the pastors together celebrating all God has done this past year and the new groups starting up.
Libraries for each of the other groups (still need 5 libraries and cost is around $500 each)
Crusades this summer or fall
Pastors and others from the USA coming this summer and /or fall.
More individuals or teams to come and help
More Bibles
Goat ministry ( will be adding sheep to that for those that would rather have sheep)
Our visit here in the states and return to Haiti July 7.

The Harvest is ripe but the workers are few.  Pray asking God how He wants to use you to be a part of the Harvest.
Thank you so much for the monetary gifts that help us to do what God calls us to do and the prayers and encouragement for the strength to not grow weary.
As you continue to pray for us, remember; as you pray you join us in what we are doing, standing by us, and helping in the battle with the long-range artillery of prayer.
Remember:  Be strong in the Lord and the Power of His might.  Ephesians 6 says: We don't battle flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual host of wickedness in the heavenly places.  Put on the whole armor of God, PRAYER, BIBLE, gospel, truth, faith, and salvation.
Which battle are you trying to fight and with what weapons?

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

April 2016

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ

We are having a great time with family and friends and also sharing at churches what God is doing in NW Haiti.  We came back a little earlier this Spring to see our oldest daughter and her family before they leave for China for 18 months.  They will be leaving the end of May.  We will be returning to Haiti June 23rd.

We had 30 VBS' last summer and with more pastor groups this year we anticipate 10 to 20 more this summer.  We also work with the churches to start a kids club to meet with these kids on a weekly basis to disciple them.

Terry had a fender bender in Port in March.  Praise the Lord there were no injuries but the cost of $1500 we had to pay to the owner of the other vehicle.

Trip to Cap Haitian to get the New Testaments that were shipped to us went great.  The bibles were free but the trip cost us around $300 travel, guest house and food.  We were able to see Citadel, it was a huge fort and living quarters, it would have been an amazing site to have seen it built or right after it was built.   Met some other missionaries and had great fellowship with them. Wish we had more time to spend there but had to get back.  About 10 days later the missionary couple came to our area and spent a couple of days with us and we went to the beach for a little rest and relaxation.  They said our roads are the worst in Haiti and they have been to most areas of Haiti.

According to our workers everything is going great while we are away.  Pastor Tim from Hughesville Baptist Church is skyping with the pastors some while we are gone, he is doing some Q & A and discipling.

March Haiti update

March 1, 2015
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!!!

Angels are rejoicing in Heaven.  Recently a blind man that lives about 10 minutes away sent his daughter to ask for some food. This is the first time he has sent anyone to ask us for food. We felt led by the Holy Spirit to send our interpreter, Rousier Sino back with her and the food to see if he was seeking more than food. After Rousier talked to the dad about the Lord, seems that he was searching for more than food, he accepted Christ!!!  Rousier told us later that the dad told him he was seeking more information about Jesus. PRAISE THE LORD!!!
Romans 10:13-15a: For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?

Thank you for giving to the Lord. Many lives have been changed because you gave.

Doing great even in the midst of the political turmoil.  As of now they have appointed a president and will plan to do a recount.  Please keep Haiti and the political turmoil in your prayers for God's will to be done in that situation.

We want to encourage the followers of Christ to do the same for America.  America needs a strong godly president and other leaders that will be guided by the Holy Spirit instead of man.

Crusade March 21 - 25.  3 nights of services and 3 nights of evangelistic films.  Pray for the weather, the lost and for fans to change to followers.

We have arranged the pastors in groups in order to encourage them on their commitment and attendance.  The Gold group is 80 to 100% attendance.  Most of them are 90 to 100%.  Terry met with them and they have asked to meet 2 times a month for more discipleship.  Pastor Tim from Hughesville BC is going to be doing some discipling with them via Skype.  The pastors are very excited about that.

The building is almost done.

Show a man his failures without Jesus, and the result will be found in the roadside gutter.  Give a man religion without reminding him of his filth and the result will be arrogance in a three-piece suit.  But get the two in the same heart – get sin to meet Savior and Savior to meet sin – and the result just might be another Pharisee turned preacher who sets the world on fire. Quote from unknown person.

As you continue to pray for us, remember; as you pray you join us in what we are doing, standing by us, and helping in the battle with the long-range artillery of prayer.

Purchased 100 bibles.  Thank you to those that gave to help purchase them.

Prayer needs:
We have 1,000 NT on the way hopefully they will be in country for us to pick up sometime this month.
Terry will be traveling to Port au Prince March 2 returning March 4th then again March 10 returning March 11 helping transport a small team from the states.
Crusade and film presentations March 20 - 25.
Sewing school about an hour from here trying to get up and going to help ladies learn a trade.

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ

Thank you so much for the monetary gifts that help us to do what God calls us to do and the prayers and encouragement for the strength to not grow weary.

Our trip back to our mountain home in Haiti was great.  No problems, but you should have seen how loaded down the truck was, three extra people and luggage and supplies, but, it all fit.

While we were gone the unity continued to grow.  Christmas week the pastors went out at 5am each morning for 6 consecutive days to pray in different areas and Christmas morning has a special service at our house.  They continued to meet faithfully on Fridays and do things without our prompting.  It was a great encouragement to see it continue on in our absence, plus do things on their own to continue building unity.
The 2 crusades are being planned for February and March to reach the lost in our area.  Please pray for them also.
Group #6 starting in February in Mole St Nicolas.  That is where the beach is, maybe we can make it there more often now.
The churches will be doing the VBS' together again this summer.  With five other groups now and 10 churches in each group, there will be more opportunity to reach more children for Christ.
We will have workshops this summer to better equip them for ministry in their churches.

Peter, one of our workers, started a prayer group in the community and is sensing a call to ministry.  Please keep him and his wife in your prayers.

Bibles update: We were able to purchase a few recently.  We will be able to purchase 200 when we go to Port this month.    The 1,000 NT have not arrived yet but should in the next couple months.  We will have to pay shipping on them when they arrive.   Praying/trusting God will make a way for 2,000 bibles or New Testaments this year, 800 to go and who knows God may have a plan for more......

Goat ministry update:  In January we put 21 goats in the hands of the pastors to help them build their herds.  We have plans to do more soon.

ATV update:  Still owe $1500.  We are so thankful the missionary let us have it before it was paid because it is such a blessing to have to get to these remote places the other pastors groups are.
Building update: We had rain so they are able to work on it.  Hopefully be done in March.  It will be a blessing to have the meetings inside instead of outside under a tarp.
School update: We are hiring two more presenters.  We are anticipating more schools.  The teachers and principals are asking for us to come more because the information is so important.
Sewing update: Having trouble keeping the machines working but praying we will be able to make it to the end of school in June.
Personal need: 2 pieces of luggage.  Size med or large preferable with wheels and a pull out handle due to airport terminals when we have to walk a distance.

The Harvest is ripe but the workers are few.  Pray asking God how He wants to use you to be a part of the Harvest.

All that you do, do for the glory of God and as you make decision don't forget to think about, "what would Jesus do".

Blessings to each of you,
Terry and Carolyn
