2016 Challenge
Pray "Break my heart Lord for what breaks Yours" and allow Him to do so.
December 29, 2015
Greetings in the Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ:

Break my heart Lord for what breaks yours.  May that be our prayer for 2016.

WOW!!! it is almost 2016 .  The year has gone by so fast.  We are very thankful God allowed us to be in the USA for holidays with our families but also to see many friends and churches that help support us to stay and minister in Haiti.  Some of the churches we were not able to get too and hope to see them on our next return to the states.  We are returning to Haiti January 7th. Please pray for our travels that day and the next few days as we are in Port au Prince buying supplies and traveling to our home on the mountain Jan 10th.

Below is a letter, thanking us for helping her, from a member in the church we attend.  Her husband died about 4 years ago and she has 4 young children.  Her house is in bad condition and really needs a new one.  We have not had the extra funds to help her build one so we helped her start a small business to at least help with repairs and feed and clothe her family.
This is letter from Amose Lafortune (a member in pastor Paul’s church)
“I am so happy to write you to let you know about what I’ve been doing with the money you gave me to help start a little business.
I started in June. When I sold from June to October, I made 2000 gourds($40 US) more on what you gave me.
After a heavy rain, the house was really in bad shape and that was hard for my children and me. So what I did: I took some money and bought some tins to cover some parts in the roof. Now I have only 2000 gourds left. And I am planning to buy with that money items to keep my little business going.
Thank you for helping me with my kids. Pray for me and I am praying for you, too."
        Amose Lafortune

While we have been in the states, the ministries and equipping have continued on.  Which is great, that shows that what we are doing is effective and working.  As a missionary, especially to another country, we need to equip those we are discipling to do what God has called us to do there; The Great Commission: Go and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son , and Holy Spirit.

The 5 pastor groups have continued to meet and some of the pastors we have discipled and equipped have gone to the other 4 groups to help and encourage them.  The pastors have been praying for the 2 crusades we will be helping them with in this new year.
We have 1000 New Testaments to pick up about a days travel from us and continuing to ask God for 1000 complete Bibles.
The leaders group has been continuing to meet.
They celebrate Christmas different than we do .  Up where we are you will not see any decorations.  Our administrator/translator messaged us that the pastors went out and did evangelism on Christmas Day, which was on Friday their normal meeting day, then returned after they finished to have a special service.  That evening most churches would had celebration services celebrating Jesus.  Then on January 1st they get together as a family and have a meal, whatever they can afford to do, and a gift if possible.

FYI:  If you would like a giving record for 2015, please call Northeast Baptist Church at 660-885-5277 ask for Cindy and request one be sent to you.

We look forward to what God has in store for us, our family and the Haitian people we minister to and equip.
Your prayers are so important!

We can't just show up at church, walk by your Bible, sit through a worship service, or walk by the altar once a week and expect to be powered by the Holy Spirit.  We must get really committed and plugged in to all those and have the best year yet when we are powered by the Holy Spirit.
 Have a blessed 2016.

Sept 26, 2015
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ

So much is happening, God is working, we wanted to send a second update this month and let you know how your giving and praying is such a blessing.  Plus a special insert below from Pastor Greg Bunn about his time spent with us and the pastors etc.

VBS reports : Mawouj: 17 VBS'; children attended: 1,927; salvations: 175 children plus 1 parent
Bombard: 10 VBS'; children attended: 680; salvations: 80

God continues to expand our territory and it is such a privilege to be a part of what God is doing here, the leaders group is meeting each week now on Wednesday at 3:00. They have been averaging 20.  We changed the children to Thursday's.

We have a film exclusively for ladies called Mary Magdalene.  Tells her story of how she met Jesus and then followed Him.  It also has an ending that ministers to women.  Have shown it a couple of times, plan to begin showing it regularly and ministering to the women that come to see it in January.  Many come because for them seeing a film is a novelty.

2 Crusades in the planning stage (praying) for the first of next year.

ATV: we were able to get the tires needed.  Terry went to one of the pastors groups about 1 hour away then another 2 hours away to do some encouraging and teaching this month.  Such a huge blessing.

Hello Routon Supporters,
My name is Gregory Bunn and I just finished my second trip to the Northwestern Mountains of Haiti. This year I led a pastor/wives marriage workshop, met with the pastors one on one and helped to provide some goats/pigs to a local orphanage. Most importantly I went to the orphanage and just loved on the children. They are hungry for love, attention, and to learn.
Terry and Carolyn have laid a great foundation for mission-minded people to come in and to build upon. I love pastors so these last two trips have been quite fulfilling for me. Yet, when I leave, I don’t feel I have made much headway into all the things that need to be done. The pastors are so hungry for Bible learning, pastoral education, doctrinal issues, and help in dealing with traditions of men and evangelism. There is tremendous need for people like you to share in the ministry to these gracious Haitian pastors, wives, and children. I have seen and experienced so much that I am almost to the point of begging you to consider what might be God’s calling upon your life.
There are MANY church buildings that need roofs and other repairs-can you do some construction? There are people who need training in evangelism and discipleship-can you help equip them to lead someone to Christ? There are pastors who need help in visiting homebound members-can you help a pastor in his ministry? There are children who need clothes, shoes, and school supplies-can you help provide these essentials for daily life? There are churches that need help in leading a VBS-can you help the children learn about Jesus? There are
pastors who have had very little education and God has called them to shepherd His people-can you help in training? There are pastors who need some one-on-one time with another pastor-do you enjoy mentoring other pastors? What gifts and abilities have you been given by God that could be used to bless the Haitian people?
There is a need for MORE to get involved in ministry to the Haitian people? What about you?

Thank you Pastor Greg for coming and now sharing your heart.  He and others that have come in the past have been a huge help to us and a blessing to us and the Haitian people.  Take a risk for  God, come to Haiti.  He took a risk for you, He sent His Son to die for you and Jesus took a risk and died for you.
Missionary William Carey said "Attempt great things for God and expect great things from God".
Risk= Attempting something that can only be accomplished if God is in it
Bless (in the biblical sense)=to ask for or to give in supernatural favor, goodness that only God has the power to know about and to give us.

Giving God the Glory,
Terry and Carolyn Routon
September 8, 2015 Haiti update

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ
Philippians 1:3 I (we) thank my(our) God upon every remembrance of you (all of you).
Thanks to all receiving this email for your prayers and monetary support which makes it possible for us to stay here and minister to the Haitian people.

Another pastors group recently started : total of 5 including the one that meets at our house.  Three of the other 4 have 7 to 10 pastors meeting together each week also.  One group only meets 2 times a month.
Pastor Greg Bunn's marriage workshop went great with an average of 35 that attended.  He also did some one on one with the pastors.
6 salvations in August at the market ministry.  PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!

We have enjoyed Rebecca and Jordan here for the past few months.  They have decided God is calling them to work with George and Carolanne, medical missionaries about 15 minutes from us.  They will be working in their nutrition center for children.

For anyone sending a package or letter to us in Haiti, we have changed our mail service to Haiti:  (we will put it on our blog too) Please do not send checks because we cannot cash them in Haiti.  Please continue to send monetary gifts to our church in Clinton, name and address listed after our Haiti address:

 Prayer needs:
*Sept - June total cost for school year sexual purity and sharing the gospel $1000
*ATV $6000 need by December.  It is such a blessing for going into remote areas.
*The false teachings the pastors have been taught partially due to them not have bibles to study to know the truth.  We are helping them with bibles and studying material in the library and showing them in scripture where the teaching they received is wrong.  But most of the false teachings have been taught here for continuous generations so please pray the Holy Spirit will show them truth through our teachings.
Blessings,
Terry and Carolyn Routon

 July 2015
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ

Remember:
The nature of Christ
The sacrifice of Christ
Authority of Christ
Calling of Christ in our lives
Praises and prayer requests:
ATV, Pic below. Praise the Lord, still need $6500.  It will save much wear on the truck and get to places we cannot get to in the truck.  Also pray we can find 8 inch tires for the front in Port au Prince so we don't have to have them shipped in.
VBS workshop went great, they were so thankful for the information.  VBS' have started.  Will report when they are all finished in August.
Evangelism workshop July 13-16.
Leadership workshop in August 10-13.
Pastor Greg Bunn returning August 24 thru Sept 5th.
Market is going well, each Tuesday and Thursday, the pastors are seeing people come to Christ and other recommitting their lives to Him through their witnessing each week.  AMEN!!!!!
Another discipleship class here, possibly on Wednesday's.
2 new pastor groups have started both about 3 hours away.  The unity is spreading to other areas.  God is definitely at work.  How is He leading you to help??

Some of you have mentioned to us you don't feel called to come disciple, come and build houses for those without.

Testimony from 2 pastors in the group: "We believe God sent you both here to help us because we have not had any possibility for training and equipping".  One pastor recently asked for more teaching for them and their leaders.  They are hungry for the word of God, will you come and help feed them spiritually?????

Friday pastors group continues with an average of 24 and the unity is building.  Right now they are studying Christ is All You Need from Colossians.  When that is finished Terry plans to go through the "Experiencing God " series.

Had a great Monday afternoon recently with the wives. 10 attended and we talked about seeking God first in all things and having the faith and belief that God will do what He says He will do. Had some answered prayers/PTL!!! One lady shared their mule (it is their livelihood for example it carries things for them to market etc) was dying, the vet came and said he would be dead by morning. They prayed all night and the next morning he was up and eating. Another shared her sister was on her death bed, the doctor said they could not do anything for her, they prayed all day and night.  In a couple days she was up and eating and back home. God is good all the time and all the time God is good and still does miracles.

God is at work here in NW Haiti. Will you join HIM through prayers, giving and/or coming here short term or long term?

Henry Blackaby wrote a textbook and also a devotion book to study entitled "Experiencing God"  The seven realities of God he discusses are:
1. God is always at work around you
2.  God pursues a continuing love relationship with you that is real and personal.
3.  God invites you to become involved with Him in His work.
4.  God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church to reveal Himself, His purposes and His ways.
5.  God's invitation for you to work with Him always leads you to a crisis of belief that requires faith and action.
6.  You must make major adjustments in your life to join God in what He is doing.
7.  You come to know God by experience as you obey Him and He accomplishes His work through you.
**You cannot go with God and stay where you are in the way you live or the way you think.
God is love.  If you come to know Him as He reveals Himself to you, you will love Him.  If you love Him, you will believe and trust Him.  If you believe and trust Him you will obey Him.

One supporter wrote: I am changing my monthly support, I may not be able to give that every month but I feel that is what I'm being lead to do.
