GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST

October 23, 2019

Our hearts continue to be heavy for the situation in Haiti.
Thank you and please continue to pray for us and Haiti.  The unrest is causing many problems especially for missionaries and the Haitian people to move within the country for supplies, medical treatment etc.  This unrest and destruction is similar to a national disaster, just happening from within by the evil in the country instead of wind and water.

The pastors groups are having to stay close to home because of fuel problems.  Please continue to pray for fuel supply to be available and the cost to go back down so our faithful 4 and gold group can go to the other groups as scheduled and for a pickup they can use to go to the other groups.
As we mentioned before God continues to enlarge our territory.  We are looking into going to the Dominican Republic next year.  We will be flying into Haiti in January and if the unrest isn't better, we will need to fly up to MaWouj instead of driving our truck.  Right now the other missionaries are having to fly in and out of our area because the roads are being blocked by the rioters and won't let anyone through.  The cost to fly is $685 one way. Also because of the riots the cost of everything is going up.  Please ask God what He would have you do to help financially and how to pray these next few months.
Also when we return in January there will be many needs from the political unrest and rioting which have also made the cost of living go up but no increase in money for the people.

"The book has been a great success and God is using it for His glory.  I am getting many good reviews from those that have read it.  The book contains information about my (Carolyn's) childhood, hurts He has brought me through, how Terry and I were called to the mission field and other ministries He called us to, about Haiti and the mission in Haiti including stories, plan of salvation, and more.  It is larger print, soft back and only 113 pages.  If you or you know someone that is hurting, someone that needs Jesus or thinking about doing missions, this book would be a good read for you or them.
I will be doing a book signing at Bread of Life book and gift store in Warrensburg, Friday, November 1st from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Also will do a book signing at Bread of Life book and gift store in Clinton, Saturday, November 9th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  As long as supplies last you will get a Haitian mat to put on your table for free when you purchase a book.  Hope you can make it to one of those places to say hello and see the book, titled : From the Cradle to the Mission Field, He chose to use the most unlikely person. If you can't make it, let me know and we can arrange to get you one or to someone you would like to send one too.  They are also available now and will be after the signing at the above stores.  In Sedalia you can purchase it at the Shepherds Place."

Our time is filling up but if you would like for us to come and share what God is doing on a Sunday or during the week, please contact us as soon as possible.  We could also do a missions or ladies meeting/conference in November or December or next summer when we are back. The months summer 2020 we are planning to be back is last half of May until the end of August, so could possibly come and do some missions at your summer camp.

Question: If you are not already a liaison for the Psalm 133 Haiti Ministry, would you please consider being one for your church and friends?

GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST

August 1, 2019

We are always excited to share updates with you because they show how God is on the move.  This one is no different.
This summer has been a very busy time for us, but we are being blessed by all God is doing among us here in Haiti.  As you will see below, God is on the move!

I am sending this out today and early this morning (been up since 3a.m.) so you can pray today and  because the internet is working.

Immediate prayer request:  Terry will be taking a pastor back to Port tomorrow (Thursday Aug 1) then picking up another and returning to the mountain on Sunday for more conferences.  Pray for safe travels and no storms of any kind to prevent travels. We have asked Jesus to calm the storm that is close to us today in the Caribbean.   Also pray for the marriage workshop and the last two pastor conferences.  We also see another storm coming our way, not sure how soon will be in our area.

September 8-15 We will be in Sedalia with the Harmony Baptist Association for their On Mission Celebration.  Come and see us if you get a chance.

September 2019 - June 2020.  Please consider committing to help with the school ministry to go in with the gospel and sexual purity through abstinence.  This past school year they presented to over 30 schools,  over 5,000 students and over 300 teachers.  The teachers and principals are asking we continue coming each year because it is making an impact.  Less dropouts which means less pregnancies, plus a few get saved each year or come to the presenters later asking for a bible or more information.  It is taking more presenters and it takes most of a day when they go, so we pay them something to go and they walk to all the schools.  The presenters are very committed to abstinence and faithful in a local church and do a good job.

Prison ministry:  Each time the pastors go, they return with reports of God moving in some coming to accept Christ as Savior and how others are discipling one another with the New Testaments we were able to send.  Those that received sandals were so thankful.  If you would like to help, their are still some that need sandals.  Also it cost around $50 each trip they go just for transportation.

The evangelism conference was a great blessing.  The tool they used is called Evangelism Explosion, you can find the information for it on line.  A couple Haitian pastors in Port au Prince have been trained and  travel around Haiti using this tool to equip pastors and leaders to then equip others for all to be able to share the gospel.  They came for 2 days and one of those days they took the time to do on the job training by going out.  10 people accepted Christ.  Praise the Lord!

The Ephesians conferences are going great. Our pastor from the Church of Living Water will be here the first two weeks of August to do a half day marriage conference and the last two conferences, ending on August 15.
The Haitian pastors all testify that they are so thankful for the opportunity to come and learn more through the Bible study, visuals and games.  Most of them have no other possibility to study and learn except when they come here. We also send our Faithful Four and Gold group to them or by the copies of lessons in their language that we send them.  Also they testify how the fellowship of the unity groups are making a difference in each of the areas as they work together to accomplish more for the kingdom of God.

We anticipate there will be at least 20 unity groups by the end of this year.  As the groups continue to expand and as God continues to enlarge our territory, the needs increase as well. Sometimes when they travel to the other unity groups they will spend 2 or 3 days there to disciple.  When they go to the prison, it is an all day trip.
We could use a couple more part time workers.  Rousier is not able to do it all and pastor a church, so he has asked to go to part time also.
As God lays it on your hearts to give and you are obedient, know that you are helping to change lives spiritually and also physically as we help with the small business loans.

We are grateful God has us here for such a time as this.

As God continues expanding our territory, we are asking you to:

1.  Commit to pray
2.  Commit to give financially as God lays on your heart

Philippians 4:17: Not that I/we seek the gift, but I/we seek the fruit that abounds to your account.
Your gift will help evangelize the lost, disciple and equip pastors.
Thank you in advance for giving and praying.
All donations are tax deductible.

Our love for Christ, what He did for us on the Cross and the love He put in our hearts for the lost and the Haitian people keep us here.  God uses your love for us, your encouragement, along with your prayers and financial giving to make it possible for us to be here to  minister and disciple pastors so they can be equipped to evangelize, disciple and be an effective pastor that teaches truth.

Show God you are truly ready to follow Him wherever He leads:
HAVE YOUR PASSPORT READY SO YOU CAN GO WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT SAYS GO!!!!!!!!!

Blessings to each of you

Book:  From the Cradle to the Mission Field
The lady that edited the book I, Carolyn is writing with Terry's help, said this about the book after editing it.  "It’s a very interesting book.  She’s funny in places, encouraging to the reader, and her faith is as challenging as it is inspiring.  I enjoyed proofing it".
It should be ready for sale September 1st, maybe a few days before.

December 2017/January 2018 YEAR END/NEW YEAR HAITI UPDATE

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ

2017 has been another exciting year, as you will see in the bullets below and all of you have been a part of what God is doing and should be excited with us. We give God all the glory!  God continues to enlarge our territory and provide for our needs and the ministry needs through each of you.  The words "thank you" could never be enough but know you will receive your greatest thank you/reward from Jesus Christ Himself either now on this earth as He gives back to you and/or when you reach your heavenly home and stand before Him to receive your rewards.  The Haiti people always ask us to say a special "thank you" for them as you help us to stay there to minister to and disciple them.  One day you will all meet one another in our heavenly home because this world is not our home, we are just passing through.  Philippians 1:3-6.  Your giving is so appreciated but your prayers are the most important thing you can do.

  • 4 new pastor groups were added in 2017. Total 12 groups and approximately 200 churches/pastors and associate pastors.
  • Some pastors walk 3 hours to their group
  • The new church "Church in Action" that started the end of 2016 has grown from 10 to 60 with 4 baptisms recently.
  • 2 of the gold pastors from our house group went out to remote areas to invite others to join the unity groups. When they got there one of the pastors said he had recently had a dream about unity and knew the Holy Spirit had sent them.  These same two want to go to areas and start churches.
  • 35 school presentations, over 4,000 students, have been informed about sexual purity until marriage and heard the gospel.  One young lady asked for more information about the gospel because she had not heard that before at her church.  This ministry is being turned over to "Church in Action" in 2018.  We will still help with items and some financial assistance but the schools will see it as the churches ministry.
  • The children's ministry was turned over to Pastor Paul's church, across the road, in 2017.  We help them with snacks sometimes but they are doing the ministry.
  • As a missionary we want to see those we work with take over the ministries, disciples making disciples
  • Our local gold pastors group of 10 now goes out and disciples the other groups.  Terry still plans to visit all the groups once or twice a year.
  • Seeing the ministries starting to be led by the Haitians is so encouraging.
  • Built a house for Pastor Preference who was in desperate need for one.

When the Holy Spirit led us to start working with pastors January 2014, we never imagined what He was up to.  Ephesians 3:20.

2018, we believe more groups will join from other areas as they hear about what God is doing in NW Haiti.  We believe it will continue spreading throughout Haiti in His timing.  We will be spending time with all the groups at their locations during the summer months by using the ATV and motorcycle.
We are also changes:
Our home/sending church to: The Church of Living Water in Warsaw and Windsor.
Our official ministry name : Psalm 133 Haiti Ministry.
In 2016 God blessed us with a house in Warsaw and this past year we have been praying about a change to a church in Warsaw.  When we met with Living Water, we both felt it was an answer to both our prayers as they were looking for opportunities to get involved in missions.  They are our accountability and spiritual and emotional support.
Since 2004, when we first went to Haiti, we have not taken a salary.  We planned to last year to help with property taxes, insurance etc plus to be able to get health insurance, but Hurricane Matthew took any extra donations that we received to minister to the people in some physical ways.  Our home church is not financially able to pay us a salary and help with all the ministry needs.
Our financial goal for 2018 is based on 2017 spending for every day needs:
$10,000 for our personal salary.
$22,000 for ministry needs ($2,000 help with school presentations; $6,000 sending pastors out 2x2 each week to other areas and starting new groups; $3,000 rent for our house and building we meet in; $3,000 to pay helpers in the ministry; $8,000 truck, ATV and motorcycle expenses, phone, internet, propane, gas, food, misc community needs like help with medical or food).
--------------------------------
$32,000 total for the year
Any amount over the above will go to help pastors start a business since they don't get a salary from their church. Or helping build a house or church wherever you specify your donation to go.
Every penny you give will continue to go to the Haiti Fund to help with a personal salary for us and do the ministry God has called us to do.  As you give and pray you continue to be partners with us and God to accomplish His will, His purpose and His ways in Haiti.  Depending on how the donations or commitments come in as to when we will be able to start taking a salary.
Please pray and ask the Holy Spirit to give you direction, then be obedient to His leading.
Not that I seek the gift but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit.  Phil 4:17.

Since our main ministry is building unity with the pastor groups we chose to go with Psalm 133 Haiti Ministry.

November 13, 2017,
Our goal while in the states will be to raise $15,000 by March 1 then will need $2500 a month for the rest of the year.

Needs:  Our biggest need is monthly/yearly support which can be every month or a one time yearly support or however someone or a church would want to do it.  This is kind of lengthy but maybe will help.

Each month:
*We send presenters into the schools for sexual purity and the gospel.  Thousands of young people are exposed to the Truth. $3,000 yr
*We send 10 pastors we have discipled for the past 4 years out to help with other unity pastor groups by helping them get started and disciple them. 9 groups and counting.  $6,000 yr.
*We have not taken a salary since we came to Haiti in 2004.  Last year we were given a house in Warsaw so we have come to a point we feel led by God it is ok to receive a salary each month, which will also help us get medical insurance.  total for both; $15,000 yr.

Need a Motorcycle to go to those groups above and also to go to remote areas that 4 wheels can't get to, to start new groups. $1700 for this ministry project.

Rent for our house and building for our meetings. $3,000/yr
Misc ministry needs (truck expenses, ATV expenses, gas, phone, internet, propane, community help and misc $6,000 yr
Salary for our translator $2,000 to 3000 per year depends on how much we use him.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other needs:  if someone or a church wants to collect food for us to take back because American type food has gotten so expensive here.  and if so I can provide them with a list of items and how many of each.

There are several churches that had extreme damage from hurricane Matthew last year so we would like to help them with cement, iron and tin.  $7500 is what is needed for that ministry project.

We would like to help the pastors get started with a home business to help sustain their family.  They receive no salary from church.  $500 per pastor is what is needed.

About the ministry

Vision:
Build unity among pastors that meet and share regularly, equipping them with the truth, providing teachable biblical lessons in their language to rid the influence of voodoo, false teachings and the traditions of man that go against the Word of God.  Psalms 133

Ministry:
*Write and translate teachable lessons in their language
*Discipling a local group of 10 Haitian pastors to help us go disciple the other groups
*Provide Bibles and other materials in their language that teach truth
*Compare the truth of the Scriptures to the lies satan has put in their culture through voodoo and traditions of men
*Compare the truth of the Scriptures to the false teachings that have been in their churches for generations
*Teaching the pastors how to study the Word through the power of the Holy Spirit
*Teaching them from the Word how to have a New Testament Church
*Start unity pastor groups in areas where there are none, which seems to be most of Haiti.

Goal//purpose
*All that we do and say being glory to God
*Disciples making disciples:prepare the pastors we disciple to disciple other pastors plus their leaders and members.
*The pastors will see the truth so they and their churches will go against their cultural traditions that go against the Scriptures and the false teachings and voodoo with the truth of the Scriptures (John 8:32) so the Christians can be set free and the lost can come to Jesus with no strings attached and no fear of voodoo. John 14:6.
*The groups that start will be discipled so they can help start other groups and teach the truth.

About us:
We were lay people that God called out of our comfortable pew.  We felt the first call to Haiti in 1999. In 2003 we sold everything we had, took a step of faith and went full time to Haiti to serve God and serve with the Haitian people totally depending on Him. Over the years He has taken us through many doors of ministry in Haiti and Missouri, the present door opened in September 2013. Every door we have walked through helped prepare us for the one described above. We have a home church that takes care of our funds, is our accountability and spiritual and emotional support. They are a small church and cannot provide a salary or all the ministry needs. We visit churches, send out updates each month via email and mail out letters 2 times a year to share what God is doing then trust God to provide for all our needs. He has been faithful and we know you will be blessed if you join in on what God is doing.

God Reveals Himself

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

It is a beautiful sunny day here in MareRouge today.  It has been rainy and cloudy but that is good for the gardens here.  Please continue to pray that God will continue to use us to bless the Haitian people and point them to Jesus.

God sometimes reveals Himself...a young malnourished orphan needs milk...through a Christian who provides the formula.  He sometimes reveals Himself...a mom and children needing food or clothing because their dad is in prison...through a caring missionary stopping by to find out what they need.  And sometimes through a blanket under which a homeless person is hiding, someone brought Him.  If we are waitng for the needy to walk through our church doors, we my wait a long time.  God doesn't wait for people to come to Him.  He goes to them and desires to intervene right at the point of their need.  He's looking for a few brave people who are willing to go rather than wait for them to come. He's not looking for show-offs.  He's looking for people through whom He can show off His Son.  May we be some of those people.  Going out brings them in and helps meet their needs.

Carolyn helping some neighbor children with math and reading Creole.  They came too late in the year to go to school, and they had not been in school where they were living before.
