Being His Hands and Feet

I went for a walk the other morning to Wolanda's house (a little girl, three years old, who was burned badly).  She was in a clinic in our village for nine weeks.  As I got close to her house, she saw me and started laughing and jumping up and down.  She ran to me, took my hand, and hugged me.  She couldn't wait to sit her naked body on my lap.  As tears came to my eyes, God reminded me in such a precious way that He loves all the children of the world:  red and yellow black and white, they are precious in His sight.  He also reminded me that when we help and show love to one of these precious ones, we are helping HIM BY BEING HIS HANDS AND FEET.

God Reveals Himself

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

It is a beautiful sunny day here in MareRouge today.  It has been rainy and cloudy but that is good for the gardens here.  Please continue to pray that God will continue to use us to bless the Haitian people and point them to Jesus.

God sometimes reveals Himself...a young malnourished orphan needs milk...through a Christian who provides the formula.  He sometimes reveals Himself...a mom and children needing food or clothing because their dad is in prison...through a caring missionary stopping by to find out what they need.  And sometimes through a blanket under which a homeless person is hiding, someone brought Him.  If we are waitng for the needy to walk through our church doors, we my wait a long time.  God doesn't wait for people to come to Him.  He goes to them and desires to intervene right at the point of their need.  He's looking for a few brave people who are willing to go rather than wait for them to come. He's not looking for show-offs.  He's looking for people through whom He can show off His Son.  May we be some of those people.  Going out brings them in and helps meet their needs.

We Arrived Safely! Praise the Lord!

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

God is an awesome God.  We arrived on the mountain safely and with no problems.  Bethlehem Church is doing well.  We will go to visit the house churches this month.  We have to walk, and it takes a while to get there, but they are all excited we are here to help share God's Word.

Pray for the Christians
Pray for the lost
Pray for the vision God has given us
Pray that God would work through us and use us in mighty ways

Thank you all for the prayers and monetary support so that we can be here to minister.
The two young ladies who came with us are, at times, overwhelmed, but very excited to be here.  It is more than they imagined, and we are very proud of them.  They are fitting right in, and the children love them.  They had their first experience with a huge spider in the outside toilet in the dark.  A little screaming, but they survived it!

Blessings to all of you.  We will send another update again when we can.

How is Your Heart?

How is your heart toward the lost?  Are you a Jeremiah, weeping for the lost and seeking God?  Or are you a Jonah, whining because the people don't listen or don't deserve, and running from God.  As we spend time with Jesus, may we become more like Him.  May He turn our whining into weeping, our self-pity into compassion, and our hard-hearts into tear-stained cheeks.

"We will become shrunken little people if all we are concerned about is our little world.  The Lord desires us to be big people:  expansive in our view of His world and a compassion for the lost." ~Jon Courson Commentary

Acts 1:8 says we shall be (not should be) His witnesses.

Matthew 28:19 & 20 says to GO ye therefore (not if we want to, but it is a command).

How is your heart toward the lost?????

Everything we do has an evangelistic and discipleship motive behind it.

Blessings,
Terry & Carolyn

2018 Challenge

COME TO HAITI
Help us minister and disciple pastors and leaders of the local churches.  We have 13 groups now and would like to have some pastors and/or lay people come and help disciple in 2018 and/or 2019.  Are you up for the challenge????????

Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

If you choose not to step out of your comfort zone, you will miss a glorious opportunity. If you are not interested in God's work, if you'd rather complain about your difficult situation or cruise in your easy one, God will still get His work done, but you will perish, not physically but the vibrancy of your walk, the joy of service, the opportunity and blessings of being used will be absent.
